In the wake of the disaster, HOPE International Development Agency’s local partner in Haiti responded quickly, assisting the most vulnerable farming families in Duchity, in the southern region of Haiti.
Donations, matched with a 3:1 grant, went directly to help families rebuild their homes. The most vulnerable families in Duchity received building materials, such as timber, corrugated iron, cement, and nails, so they could repair and rebuild their homes. As a result, more than 700 people are now living in safe housing.
Families are focusing on rebuilding their lives and livelihoods, and are extremely grateful for your support. HOPE’s commitment to the families of Duchity continues. Today, families are receiving training in sustainable agriculture. Seeds are being provided and tree nurseries established to increase farm productivity and profitability – all of which helps families rebuild their lives.
